Commercial Invoice

In simple words, a commercial invoice is an export document that serves as legal evidence of a sale transaction between the buyer and the seller. It is mainly used for clearance purposes with regard to customs and helps in the determination and assessment of duties and taxes payable. Sample

Often, international shipping consists of heavy documentation. Documents are necessary at practically every stage for verification and clearance purposes. Commercial invoices are to be produced while shipping goods to international clients.

  • Helps in maintaining records

Commercial invoices are a mandatory document in the import and export procedures and constitute an important part of the paper trail for transactions relating to exports and imports.

  • Proof of sale

Since a commercial invoice contains all the transaction details, including the details of the buyer, seller, and description and value of goods, it constitutes an essential part of the evidence that the sale transaction has taken place.

  • Guarantees payment

A commercial invoice is a legal document evidencing a sale transaction and therefore plays a vital role in ensuring payment for the same.

Certificate of Origin (CO)

A Certificate of Origin (CO) is an important international trade document that certifies that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country.

They declare the ‘nationality’ of the product and also serve as a declaration by the exporter to satisfy customs or trade requirements.

COs are requested by customs, banks, private stakeholders and importers for several purposes. Almost every country in the world requires CO for customs clearance procedures: when determining the duty that will be assessed on the goods or, in some cases, whether the goods may be legally imported at all.

There are two types of COs that chambers can issue:

  • Non-Preferential COs which certify that the goods are subject to no preferential treatment. These are the main type of COs that chambers can issue and are also known as “Normal COs”.
  • Preferential COs, which certify that goods are subject to reduced tariffs or exemptions when they are exported to countries extending these privileges. These COs tend to be closely associated with Regional Trade Agreements. Sample
Customs Invoice

A customs invoice is a document that travels with your parcel, and contains information about the items inside your parcel. The customs invoice is required for customs clearance, and your shipment can’t leave the country or state without one. If you are sending a parcel to a country outside of the EU,USA or within, you must fill out a customs invoice which specifically details every item you are exporting.

Most of us have flown into another country and had our bags searched as we pass through security at both the source and destination airports. With parcels, a similar procedure is carried out.

It is worth noting that documents are the only items that do not need a customs invoice when they are shipped to or from the EU. However, shipments weighing more than 2.5kg in weight will be cleared as goods and will require customs clearance, and a customs invoice to be created.

Sending parcels domestically requires very little effort on your part, sometimes no customs invoice, no import taxes and no stringent regulations. fill out the information and choose the best courier for your needs. With international shipping, you are technically exporting goods. This is a more complex process and requires careful thought and planning. Sample Here
